The device can be described as a motorised stationary exercise bike for moving the lower limbs. It is equipped with a computer-controlled system that allows cycling movements to be performed from a seated or semi-reclined position. The device is accessible to users who remain seated in their own wheelchair. The construction consists mainly of a metal frame housing the motor for the lower limbs. This frame also serves as a holder for the computer unit with touchscreen, from which all functions can be operated, and for the large handle that provides support and makes transport easier. When there is no residual motor activity in the lower limbs, MotoLife® enables a passive pedalling movement, in which the feet and legs are moved by the motor at a preset speed (passive kinesitherapy).
MotoLife® is suitable both for home use and for clinics, medical practices and other institutions, and can be used for passive, assisted or active kinesitherapy. The system adapts automatically and in real time to the user’s condition.
